Bombers rained out Tuesday
The Dubois County Bombers have to wait another day to try to advance to the Ohio Valley League’s Championship round.
The Bombers (24-20) grabbed a 5-1 Monday in the Divisional Championshdip on the road against the Henderson Flash, but Tuesday’s game back at League Stadium and was rained out and postponed until 6:30 p.m. today.
Southridge sponsorship opportunity announced
Southridge has announced two options for advertisement for football and boys basketball programs. The Raiders intend to continue its basic structure with GameDay Program for both sports, which will feature team rosters, pictures and more, as has been done in the past.
The pricing for an ad to be in both the football and ball programs cost $150 for a small ad, $225 for a large ad. There’s the opportunity for signate at Raider Field and Huntingburg Memorial Gym to post an advertisement of a person’s choosing for $500.
Aspiring sponsors are asked to email both an ad design and whether they’re choosing a banner, small ad and/or large add to buenings@swdubois.k12.in.us
The Raiders are also seeking football and basketball home game sponsors for $500, with a company representative to be introduced at midfield/midcourt prior to kickoff/tip off, with a summation of the business and a signed helmet or basketball.
The deadline for the first football gameday advertisement is Aug. 5.
Pickleball Tournament
DC Multisport announced in a press release that the second annual Battle of the Paddle pickleball tournament is scheduled for Sept. 24-25 at Jasper’s Bohnert Park.
The tournament is non-sanctioned, and all skill levels and ages are welcome. A men’s doubles and women’s doubles tournament is set for Saturday, mixed doubles on Sunday. There are two divisions per category — age 49 and under, plus 50 and over. There are 12 teams allowed per division, with a $30 fee per team.
There will be a giveaway, snacks, water and sports drinks in a tournament that has pool play and a seeded bracket.
It’s one game to 11 points, win by one, with sides changing at the sixth point and the USA Pickleball Association rules in effect.
There are medals for first and second place to each division, with proceeds going to the Tri-County YMCA.

Court blocks Indiana trans athlete ban
A press release from the ACLU reports the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana gave a preliminary injunction that A.M., a 10-year-old trans girl, be required to rejoin her school’s all-girls softball team during ongoing litigation. A lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana back in April.
