PERRY COUNTY — Cannelton, Tell City, and Perry Central’s boys basketball season tips off Monday, Nov. 21, and here are some things to look for:

Tell CityTell City basketball will have some familar faces in bigger roles and a young team looking to fill big shoes for how their season fares.

The boys basketball team will be coached by Greg Hollinden in his first year in the role. Hollinden, replaced Mike Brown who coached the team for one season.

A factor towards the Tell City boys team will be trying to replace 80% of the scoring from last year’s team. That will mean the players who are holdovers from a year ago, and the incoming freshmen, have major opportunities for playing time. Examples of those players include Byron Meserve, and Isaac Lindauer.

Tell City’s first game will be Nov. 23 against Perry Central at Perry Central for a 7:30 tip time.

For more information on the team, keep an eye out for the Winter Sports Preview.

Perry CentralPerry Central boys basketball is in a similar position to Tell City, where they will have to figure out how to replace major contributors. For example, Perry Central will have to replace two all-conference players in Andy Bishop and Cole Hess.

The plan for how the Commodores will look to do that comes from a deep team, and players who were starters last season to take big jumps this season. Players to keep an eye on for those jumps include Lucas Mitchell, Cohen Edwards, and Corbin Haughee. More to come on the Commodores boys basketball team in the Winter Sports Preview.

Perry Central’s first game will be on Nov. 23 against Tell City at 7:30 p.m. at home.

CanneltonCannelton boys basketball this season will run out with a roster of six players and build off last year’s postseason win.

The bulldogs, are wanting to focus their team on the defensive side of the floor. Furthermore, their goal is to find ways to win and succeed in conference play.

Players to keep an eye on for the bulldogs are Trevor Hale and Logan Larsen. Those two will look to replace the scoring that Jhett Garrett, Austin Wiseman, and Trenton Boyle produced last season.

Cannelton’s first game is on Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. at Evansville Day School.
