DUBOIS — Perry Central softball, in their last game of the regular season Friday, lost 12-7 with the Jeeps producing a little more offense.
Perry Central started the game by grabbing a 2-0 lead. Maggie Cunningham and Elizabeth Harpenau each hit RBI singles that scored MaKenna Labhart and Audra Harbaville.
After not allowing the Jeeps to score in the bottom of the inning, Perry Central scored their third run by a Harbaville double.
However, the Jeeps came back in the bottom of the second inning. The Jeeps first three hitters all reached base by an error, single, and then a walk. After the stretch, Northeast Dubois scored their first run off a passed ball. Then due to an error, the game tied at three. The tie did not hold long though as Brooklyn Kiefer hit an RBI double to score two runs for a 5-3 lead. A sixth run also scored for Northeast Dubois by a wild pitch.
Perry Central in the top of the third tied the game at six. Their fourth and fifth runs scored by a ground out. Lastly, their sixth run scored by an RBI single from Aubreigh Gogel.
Northeast Dubois in the bottom of the fourth secured the lead again. Kiefer hit another RBI double which scored Ady Kiefer. Later in the inning, Northeast Dubois scored off a wild pitch and then a RBI single from Kelli Merkel for a 9-6 lead. The Jeeps also added their 10th run in the game from a Perry Central error.
The Jeeps last two runs came in the bottom of the fifth from a Averi Bauer double. Perry Centrals scored their last run in the top of the sixth from a Labhart RBI single.
Gogel pitched most of the contest before Labhart relieved her in the last inning. Gogel gave up six earned runs, 11 hits, and struck out one batter. Labhart gave up a hit in the inning.
Ady Kiefer and Bauer pitched for the Jeeps. The two of them gave up four earned runs combined and struck out three batters. Perry Central also finished with 11 hits against their pitching.
Labhart, Harbaville, and Gogel each had two hits. Cunningham finished with three hits to lead the Commodores.
