LEOPOLD — Perry Central, on Friday against Mitchell, found a way to win the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference and move to 5-0 in the conference and 8-1 overall as the regular season concludes. They won by the score of 42-8.
For how the Commodores got the victory, it came through Sawyer Guillaume who broke the school record of Noel Wagner’s 306 yards. Guillaume rushed for 310 yards in their win against Mitchell and he finished with five touchdowns.
Defensively, Perry Central finished by forcing two turnovers against the Mitchell defense. Lucas Mitchell finished with an interception, as did Cole Yeager.
Overall, Perry Central closed the first quarter with a 14-0 lead thanks to two Guillaume touchdowns. In the second quarter, Perry Central scored two more touchdowns off Guillaume rushes to extend their lead to 28-0 at half.
In the second half, Mitchell scored their first points of the game and Adam Goffinet responded with a 50 yard rushing score to make the end of the third quarter 35-8.
Lastly, in the fourth quarter, Perry Central once again gets another score from Guillaume off an 80 yard carry to give them 42 points.
