Saturday, April 15, 2023, the Perry County Museum hosted its first Movers, Shakers, and History Makers Dinner fundraiser.
Twenty-five community volunteers turned “History Makers” were represented, ranging from celebrities, artists, athletes, a first lady, musicians, notable figures and even a few memorable people from local history.
Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough — we sold out 300 tickets and exceeded expectations with the generous support from everyone who bought tickets, tipped their History Maker, participated in the silent auction and made donations.
All proceeds benefit the Perry County Museum and are used toward the upkeep of our 126-year-old building, providing safe archival storage for our collection, creating exhibits and performing educational outreach to the community.
Fundraising exceeded expectations with the generous support from everyone who bought tickets, tipped their History Maker, bought really cool items from the silent auction and donated money.
“We can’t say thank you enough,” said Perry County Museum representative.

Some of the tables were having a friendly competition with their tips, but Tonya Rankin (Janis Joplin) won bragging rights with nearly $3,000.
“Tonya, you just took a Piece of My Heart with that effort,” stated Perry County Museum representative.
