SRO Triton Martin

TELL CITY — The Tell City Police Department and Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation are excited to welcome Officer Triton Martin as the newly appointed School Resource Officer at Tell City Schools.

Officer Martin, a Perry Central High School graduate, also attended Indiana University Southeast, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to his full-time employment with TCPD, Officer Martin served as a deputy with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Martin was selected for the position following the promotion of former SRO Phil Flamion to the position of Assistant Chief of Police. Assistant Chief Flamion, who served as the SRO for five years, will be assisting Officer Martin with his transition. Officer Martin is slated to attend training with the National Association of School Resource Officers this summer.

“With a genuine passion for community based policing practices, I am honored to have the opportunity to make a difference in the youth of Perry County,” said Officer Martin. “Tell City-Troy Township Schools and the Tell City Police Department have put an immense amount of effort and succeeded in developing an effective School Resource Officer (SRO) Program, and I look forward to taking it further to heights that have yet to be reached. In doing this, the safety and success of our students, their parents and school faculty will remain of utmost priority to me while I fulfill my new role.”

Officer Martin’s charismatic personality is among the many qualities for which he was selected for the position. The TCPD is confident he will serve the students, staff, and community with empathy, integrity, and passion. Officer Martin will embrace future opportunities to meet the students and parents in person. Officer Martin can be reached by calling either of the school campuses or by email: triton.martin@tellcity.k12.in.us.

Please join us in welcoming SRO Martin and wishing him a great first day of school.
