A new duo hits the stage at Mitchell Opera House, performing the music of Simon & Garfunkel at 7 p.m. Saturday Feb. 11

Swearingen & Kelli recreate the music, of folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. Both artists were heavily inspired by ‘70s singer-songwriters.

The duo’s new album, Cold-Hearted Truth, recorded in a series of live takes with Grammy Award-winning producer Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay, JJ Heller, The Blind Boys of Alabama), has been featured on Americana Highways, Cowboys and Indians, and Red Line Roots.

They have shared the stage with artists including David Bromberg, Crystal Gayle and Kenny Rogers. Swearingen’s song “You’re Not Here with Me” was recorded by folk icon Tom Rush featuring Nanci Griffith on his album, What I Know.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, and $13 for 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Ace Hardware in Mitchell, the ticket booth the night of the event, or by visiting mitchelloperahouse.com.
