LEOPOLD — Perry Central softball hosted Orleans and the game’s sparks all came in the first half of the contest.

For example, Orleans in the top of the first inning wasted no time to get on the board.

Jaden Adams hit a double, and then Cambree Cline reached base by a Perry Central error. From there, Adams scored off a groundout. Their second run came by a passed ball where Cline was able to come home.

Perry Central tied the game at two by getting a lot of traffic on the bases. MaKenna Labhart led off the inning and got on base by an error. Audra Harbaville hit a single, and that scored Labhart. Maggie Cunningham hit a single, and Harbaville scored due to an error from Orleans.

Bottom of the second for Perry Central gave the Commodores one more run by a sacrifice fly. Aubriegh Gogel who got on base by a walk, moved to second base off a single from Celena Peter, and a walk. From there, she scored the run to give the Commodores a 3-2 final.

Offensively Orleans finished with three hits compared to two from Perry Central. Pitching for the Commodores was Aubreigh Gogel who threw a complete game. She struck out five batters, walked seven, and allowed no earned runs. Orleans pitched Adrian Abel, Jaden Adams, and Izzie Rutherford. They combined to give up three hits, and two strikeouts.
