JASPER — A local man was arrested Friday following a traffic stop for an improper headline.
According to the Jasper Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 GMC Sierra after observing the vehicle traveling southbound on Mill Street.
During the course of a traffic stop officers determined the driver, Michael Heinz, 38, Jasper, was intoxicated. Heinz later tested presumptive positive for cannabinoids at Memorial Hospital. Officers also located drug paraphernalia and prescription pills not prescribed to Heinz in the vehicle.
Heinz was transported to the Dubois County Security Center and booked in on preliminary charges of possession of a legend drug, OWI, endangerment and possession of paraphernalia.
