JASPER — A traffic stop late Friday night in Jasper resulted in an impaired driving arrest.
Jasper Police Department officers were patrolling in the area of Ninth and Jackson streets when a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck was observed failing to stop at that intersection at 11:02 p.m.
Police said they determined during the traffic stop that the driver, Justin M. Buechlein, 33, 1327 Newton St., Jasper, had consumed alcoholic beverages. Police said Buechlein’s blood alcohol content tested .10% in a certified chemical test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Buechlein into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:45 a.m. Saturday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and OWI (endangerment). He was granted a conditional release from jail later that morning.
