FERDINAND — The Southeast Dubois School Board held a regular meeting on Wednesday, Aug 3.
The board approved the claims totaling $1,186,289.35.
The board also considered purchase requests for various classroom supplies, class fee items, library books, bleacher inspections, custodial supplies, classroom blinds, custodial supplies, and cafeteria hood cleaning. The grand total of purchase requests was $7,620.68.
The board approved for the Ranger/Little Ranger 4-H Clubs to use FPHS Cafeteria. The consideration of the MCCLA group to host a Marion Kay fundraiser was made.
The board considered and approved several resignations and hirings for the school year.
The school corporation received donations from:
• $250 from the Heimatfest 5K run/walk to boy’s track.
• $2,500 from Chris and Dawn Tretter to Forest Park boy’s golf
• OFS furniture donation to corporation office
• Stemle & Associates furniture donation to Forest Park
• Kimball furniture donation to Ferdinand Elementary
• Portable PA system from Ferdinand Tourism Commission to SED music department
• $801.42 from German American Bank to SED as part of the School Spirit Card program
The school board made a commendation stating “that the start of the school year is possible due to the significant efforts of our custodial/maintenance staff, administrative assistants and building principals. We are extremely grateful for their hard work!”
