JASPER — A Saturday morning call for service to Rural King in Jasper resulted in the arrest of two Boonville brothers on charges of felony drug possession, counterfeiting and forgery.
According to information obtained from the Jasper Police Department, JPD officers were called to the local farm supply store just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to two suspicious males inside the store, suspected to be intoxicated and store employees were concerned of an impending theft.
Once on scene, officers made contact with the two, identified as Nathan Ambrose, 32, Boonville was found to be intoxicated and Matthew Ambrose, 36, Boonville, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Vanderburgh County. This led officers to search the two individuals, with Matthew Ambrose found to have illegal drugs on his person, along with several counterfeit $100 bills.
Upon further investigation, the JPD utilized K-9 Mack, who alerted on the vehicle the men drove to the store, indicating illegal drugs. A search of the vehicle discovered several additional illegal drugs.
Both were taken into custody and booked into the Dubois County Security Center, with Nathan Ambrose arrested on preliminary charges of possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, counterfeiting; forgery. Matthew Ambrose was taken into custody and preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine and counterfeiting; forgery.
