The Sunset Extension Homemakers Club met at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper. President Sylvia Adams opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag, the Creed and the Mission Statement.

Hostess Denise Smith led the song of the month, “On Top of Old Smokey.” Six members answered roll call with something they were thankful for.

Janet Epple read the October minutes, and Denise Smith gave the treasurer’s report.

Ann Buechler gave the health and safety report, “I Do Everything With, But Why Do I Keep Getting Sick?” Mrs. Smith told about the new arts center and library for the citizenship report. She also read a thank you card from Special Olympics for the club’s donation.

The bylaws were amended to change the club’s meeting time to 4 p.m. Members filled out contact tracing forms for the church.

President Adams read the four choices for the “L.O.V.E” promotion. They were the importance of literacy, awareness of opioid abuse, promoting volunteerism and education. Members will give donations to “First Book” in December.

Mrs. Epple will be hostess for the 4 p.m. meeting Tuesday, Dec. 15. Mrs. Buechler will bring a pizza, and everyone should bring a drink and her own utensils.

Priscilla Starkey gave the lesson “Downsizing Your Home.”

The Reflection and Vision Statement were read. Mrs. Adams thanked Mrs. Smith for being hostess. Secret sisters will be drawn in December.

The door prize brought by Mrs. Epple was won by Mrs. Starkey. The attendance prize went to Mrs. Adams. Judy Hubster won the game prizes. Each member also received a gift bag.
